Tab Hoarder Intervention — last updated August 15, 2026
Short version: Tab Hoarder Intervention does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything it reads and stores stays on your device.

What the extension accesses, and why

To do its job, Tab Hoarder Intervention reads information about your open browser tabs using Chrome's own tabs and tabGroups APIs. Specifically:

Where this data goes

Nowhere but your own device. All data is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.session APIs, which keep it on your machine only. The extension does not have a backend server, does not make network requests, and does not use analytics or tracking of any kind. Nothing about your browsing is ever sent to us or to any third party.

What's stored locally

You can clear all of this at any time by removing the extension, which deletes its local storage along with it.

The "share my tab report card" feature

This feature generates an image entirely on your device using your browser's canvas. Nothing is uploaded automatically — the image is only saved or copied if you explicitly click "Download" or "Copy image." What you do with that image afterward (for example, sharing it yourself) is up to you.

Permissions, explained plainly

None of these permissions are used to collect data about you for any purpose other than the feature described.

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, since it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future paid tier adds a server-side component — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
